You’ll be able to see them soon when their new website launches in July, 2017. ** Since these images are copyright protected by my client, I can’t show them here which is too bad because they are awesome shots. Replace All replaces all substrings that match the pattern in the source string.” Use Regular Expression allows you to use regular expressions to find strings based on patterns in filenames. Intermediate Filename replaces a string that is defined by preceding options in the New Filenames pop-up menus. First, choose what you want to replace: Original Filename replaces the string from the original filename. * Per Adobe, String Substitution “allows you to change all or part of a filename to custom text. That may seem like a lot of work, but it only takes seconds to accomplish in both directions inside Bridge, even if you have hundreds of files! As a result, this can push you over that max character count in a big hurry.įortunately, you can use the above Adobe Bridge skill to convert spaces to underscores (which don’t get converted by Adobe Fireworks), run your Fireworks batch process, then change them back to spaces in Bridge. Having said that, you may notice that when it’s doing its batch-process thing, it converts spaces and some special characters to the super long encoding format. Pro Tip: this tool becomes exceedingly useful if you have images with very long filenames that require the sort of batch resize and optimize processes we covered in this Adobe Fireworks Batch Image Processing article.įor example, Fireworks has a max filename character limit that usually isn’t an issue. If you want to remove something so that the characters before and after have no new character or space, do not enter anything into this field.Ħ) Select “Replace All.” The preview section at the bottom of that dialog box will show you how things will look before and afterħ) Select “Rename” to initiate the process. For example, if you want to replace the underscore with a space, type a single space. Be very careful not to include any spaces before or after.ĥ) Enter the character you want to replace with. I missed to change Resample to Automatic which will work just fine.3) In the “New Filenames” section, select “String Substitution” from the first dropdown and “Original Filename” in the second dropdown.Ĥ) Enter the character you want to replace in this field. In case that you have all images in the same orientation then you can use easily and Image Processor Pro, just change unit to Inches, type units you need plus keep Resolution to 300. In that case, keep only step to change resolution and add conditional step to run action with single step to change either width or height depend on orientation of your image. If you have mixed orientation then you must record one more action which will be triggered by conditional step if image is vertical orientation. That is it, it will work with assumption mentioned above. If you have all images landscape then simply record additional step with Resample turned on and change Width to 12in. I am assuming that all your images are actually larger of what you need because (probably) you set print dimensions to 12 x 8 in what caused resolution to increase or you have missed point in resolution that it matters a lot when working with physical size not pixel dimensions. Do you have images with Resoltion greater than 300ppi? In that case you need to record additional step in action to change print dimensions on longer side to 12in what will automatically set smaller side to 8in. It seems I missed to understand your problem. Set nw to (word 2 of paragraph 2 of pd as real) * sĭo shell script ("sips -resampleWidth " & nw & " " & thepath & " ")ĭo shell script ("sips -s dpiHeight " & theres & " -s dpiWidth " & theres & " " & thepath & " ") Set pd to do shell script ("sips -g pixelWidth " & thepath & " ") Set cr to word 2 of paragraph 2 of r as real Set r to do shell script ("sips -g dpiWidth " & thepath & " ") Set thepath to quoted form of POSIX path of (f & n as string) Set f to (choose folder with prompt "Select folder with images") Resamples images in the selected folder to 300ppi via sips You might try this AppleScript, it resamples the images in a selected folder to 300ppi. On OSX you can use shell scripts for basic image manipulation, which should be faster than batching in Photoshop because the files don’t have to open.
